Bring a warm sweater, rain jacket or windbreaker and wear sensible shoes. It may be cool on the water. You will be sailing aboard a working Packet Freighter and you will be most comfortable if you dress accordingly. Don't forget your binoculars, camera and batteries, spare media card and/or extra film. While we do service various destinations in Barkley Sound and drop off, or pick up, passengers at those locations, please be aware that for day trip passengers disembarking only occurs at the final destination of the day trip, either Ucluelet or Bamfield respectively. There are no other stops along our route when day trip passengers leave our ship.
There is a galley aboard our ship where you can purchase items from a limited but more than adequate breakfast and lunch menu from mid-April until early October. Bacon and eggs, pancakes, soups, sandwiches and hamburgers, snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages are all available. During the winter season full galley service is curtailed though toast and coffee, sandwiches, snacks and the non-alcoholic beverages are still available. Meals range in price from about $6.00 to $8.50 each.

On sailing days our office opens for ticket sales at 7am. The ship assigned to the route you will be traveling on will also be open and you are welcome to go aboard after buying your tickets. All passenger fares are in Canadian currency and include tax. Accepted forms of payment are Visa, Mastercard, travellers' cheques and cash. We are only able to accept debit cards at our office in Port Alberni and not aboard our ships, our water taxi or at Sechart Lodge. We no longer accept American Express cards. If you are a customer from outside of Canada and would like to know what our fees are in your own currency please use the currency converter to calculate the exchange difference. Children aged 8 - 15 years travel for half fare.
Children aged 7 years and under travel for free.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Charter Rates For 2010.... |

The Frances Barkley is available for charters at the rate of $475.00 per hour to take your group on evening or day cruises when our schedule does not meet with your schedule. There is a 3 hour minimum charge and tax is extra.
